Hashtags help people find interesting subjects, for example if you put a Hashtag in front of a keyword in your Tweet which relates to your business or site it will found more easily on Twitter when people search.
You can place a hashtag anywhere in your tweet and you can have up to 3 hashtags per tweet.
Hashtagged words that become very popular are often trending topics.
Placing hashtags in your tweet will help drive traffic to your site.

Twitter @ sign & profiles

The @ sign is used to show usernames in Tweets, like this: Good morning @kreativeonline! When a username is preceded by the @ sign, it becomes a link to a companies or individuals Twitter profile.

Facebook 'Like' Buttons

Adding a 'Like' button to your website encourages people to vote for your site which in turn increases your sites visibility on Facebook. Once a person clicks the 'Like' button your website details are posted on their Facebook page.
